Winnie Harlow is a Canadian fashion model and spokesperson who gained prominence as a contestant on the twenty-first cycle of the U.S. television series America’s Next Top Model while having a prominent form of the skin condition vitiligo. Winnie Harlow was one of two contestants to be voted out in Week 1, and finished in second place behind finalist’s runway rookie Candace Bushnell and eventual winner Tyra Banks.
She was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to a Jamaican father and an Irish mother. She went to school at the University of Western Ontario, where she studied English and French. She also attended York University, where she completed an undergraduate degree in French literature.
She is currently modeling for a number of companies including Abercrombie & Fitch and Caliente Cosmetics. Her many accomplishments include being named Model of the Year by the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) in 2007.
Winnie Harlow has also been featured on television shows such as America’s Next Top Model, The Tyra Banks Show, The Today Show and Live with Regis and Kelly. She has also been featured on covers of magazines such as Elle Canada, Nylon Magazine and Marie Claire South Africa. In 2004 Winnie was featured on the cover of Elle Canada as well as being named one of their “21 under 21” young faces to watch that year.
She has also appeared in numerous commercials and print ads. In 2005, she was featured in a four-page spread of Elle Canada. She is currently signed to Caliente Cosmetics in Canada and Abercrombie & Fitch in the U.S.

Winnie Harlow is not the most successful ANTM contestant. That title belongs to, Tyra Banks by a huge margin. She is the third most successful contestant in terms of cover appearances and press coverage, but she is no longer on the show.
No. There are many other contestants who were better than her such as Carolyn Murphy, Crystal Renn and Kenley Collins. No one has ever won Model of the Year award over Tyra Banks who has had 17 wins since being voted out of ANTM in 2004. The only woman who had even close to that record was Lisa D’Amato who won four times in a row from 2002-2005.
Why did Chantelle change her name to Winnie?
Winnie Harlow is a singer, songwriter and actress. Her stage name is Chantelle. She changed her name to Winnie because she had a lot of problems with fans as a Chantelle. Many people thought that she was another person and not the real person. It was also because of the publicity that she got when Tyra Banks saw her in the street and asked for an autograph. It would get too much pressure for her if it were known to be Chantelle.
Why did she run away from home?
Winnie Harlow ran away from home when her mother found out about her career in modeling. Her mother thought that modeling was not suitable for a girl who was going to school still, so Winnie left home without telling anyone where she went. She stayed with friends and family while getting herself into shape before returning home after being discovered by ANTM producers at the University of Western Ontario’s French week event during the school year.

Her debut single “I’m Not Here” was released on February 19, 2008 off her debut album “I’m Not Here”. The second single from the album “Shake It Off” has been released to radio stations across the country on April 7, 2008. The third single from the album “In My Life” has been released to radio stations across the country on May 19, 2008. The fourth single from the album “I’m Not Here” has been released to radio stations across the country on June 10, 2008.
