The Undeniable Need For Leaders in Healthcare

Most people are not aware of this but the healthcare industry is pretty big. In fact, according to the 2018 National Health Expenditure Report in 2016, it was found that the United States Healthcare spending in the industry have reached around $3.3 trillion or $10,348 per person.

There is a significant economic footprint in healthcare, coupled with increasing costs for employers, taxpayers, and individuals. Consequently, it has grabbed the attention of those in the biggest and most influential companies in the world. The CEO and Founder of Amazon has even stated that, “Reducing healthcare’s burden on the economy while improving the outcomes of employees and their families is worth the effort.”

It has become more critical than ever that healthcare starts coming up with new and innovative thinking leaders who can guide an industry towards technological innovations to business competition and giving better care to demanding patients. These leaders also need to understand the unique requirements of the healthcare sector and the gravity of how healthcare can impact one’s daily life.

Now there have been only a few successful individuals who have been trying to come up with new and improved solutions, especially after the impact of COVID-19 on the world. One such person includes Dave Nayak – one of the best American physicians and philanthropists of our time. He serves as the founder of the Strength to Love Foundation (STL) and the owner of Nayak Farms.

During some of the early years of his career, Dave was selected by the CBS-2 News Chicago to become a Medical-Investigation Producer and Reporter. It was around this time when he would work on reporting harmful over-the-counter supplements and the importance of automatic defibrillator maintenance. Additionally, when he was under the mentorship of CBS-2 News Chief Correspondent Jay Levine, he was able to create and produce 10 on-air stories.

Regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, Dave established the ‘Dr. Dave on Call’ where he focused on assisting various small businesses and schools all over Chicago. Plus, in 2020, he formulated and implemented custom COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to allow schools and companies to operate effectively even through remote means.

In addition to that, Dave also launched the Dr.Dave On Call Podcast which focused on topics that included the COVID-19 pandemic, health, and wellness topics and he interviews nationally recognized guests who speak about relevant issues.

Moreover, Dave serves as the President of the Chicago-based non-profit ‘ ‘Strength to Love Foundation” which is a popular non-profit organisation that works to improve healthcare access, food security, and gun violence.

Dave has also been known for being an efficient farmer with a vision. He founded the Nayak Farms Sweet Corn Initiative and has donated more than thousands of sweet corn to the major Illinois Food Brands. Plus, he has shown relentless effort in trying to create an effective infrastructure system that will have donated over 1,000,000 pounds of sweet corn by 2026 to Illinois and the Midwest – all of it in hopes of addressing food insecurity issues to all food-insecure families around the world.
