Together USPA’s Executive Management and philanthropists, Daniel Manning (CEO), Brian Fitzgibbons (VP), and Michael Evans, the founder of USPA, have pledged to donate $75,000+ per month to fund investigations and rescues of missing children across the United States.
There is an increasing number of American businesspeople who have pledged to give away the majority of their wealth for charitable purposes. Manning, Fitzgibbons and Evans are among them. Following the example of Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard who donated $3 billion to charity and Jeff Bezos’ ex-wife Mackenzie Scott who gave away a $55 million mansion, USPA owners have committed to giving away their earned profits for 17 years. Manning stated that the company will be donating up to $1 million a year to locate and rescue missing children, “A charitable cause we can all support,” he explained.
“In the past, I have always worked hard to earn as much money as I could, just to give it away,” said Michael Evans. “Having worked hard and received a reward that only lasted a few minutes led us to our next mission.” Evans is referring to his life’s purpose, which has been everything to him.
USPA Nationwide Security has continued its philanthropic mission under Manning and Fitzgibbons. Besides their monetary contributions, they devote much of their personal time to investigating missing children’s cases. Brian Fitzgibbons, USPA’s Vice President, pointed out that missing children’s cases are often a precursor to human trafficking. “As a result of our work, we attempt to address the problem at the root, which is that, in many cases, teen runaways are manipulated by traffickers, who usually appear in the troubled teen’s life through social media platforms when he or she is seeking attention or understanding.”
As a result of USPA’s pledge, Kingsman Philanthropic Corp. will have a secure future. Due to the lack of funding from outside sources, the nonprofit will be able to carry out rescues in the future. USPA’s CEO, Daniel Manning, stated, “USPA stands ready to support the nonprofit, Kingsman, using profits generated by our nationwide security guard program, fire watch program and Titanium (celebrity executive protection), which will use the funds to locate missing children for years to come.”
As part of its cover story in Forbes Magazine in 2020, USPA was featured for its philanthropic arm, Kingsman. Since USPA has operated in the shadows for decades and now operates publicly, the organization receives more calls for free service than it can handle on its own. As Manning explains, “Funding has always been the conversation stopper,” from their Witness Protection Program and domestic violence escapes to their human trafficking recoveries.
